Well this is it
Nowhere else to go
Nothing else to write
Tis time to leave

Forget this path of destruction and sorrow
No longer trapped by grief
Seeing for the first time
Sunshine breaking through

Beyond this dark and lonely valley
I walk this track alone
But with a determined mindset

Looking back I smile
Weeping for what I leave behind
Turning around
Face towards the sun
Basking in radiant light

Goodbye to all this
Smiling I know it’s the end
I will always remember
Never to come back

Bud, that's really good.. Such a mix of pain, hope and regret, all put together in snappy lines. Knowing a lot about u really makes me smile reading this. Change is in the air; it may be tough, it made hurt and the history on ur back torments, but it's ur life so it hurts to move on..
This is very full of hope and is great to hear coming from u!
Great write! Tim

I can relate to this piece. I have been quite down a while and would love to see the sun instead of the overcast reality; yet there is something I kind of find satifying about feeling melancholy on the level I do, I think one sees it on a deeper level when sad. Again I loved this piece!

This poem is cutting on the edge of sorrow.
Well written verse.
We as humans all have those moments when we give way to despair, specially now that times are so strange and uncertain.

Though......... we cannot lay down not for good, lay down or sit down to rest, let the pen and paper rest if you wish as well. Then brush off and get back after it, there is a ton of writing to do, a big world to live in., LIVE in it!

Hugs
Michelle
