The preface to my twisted destiny hangs high above my head
Holding my very life force as a ransom to my current position
No great salvation awaiting my fallen corpse
I simply return to ashes in a corrupt world of lies
Within the shell I am contained imperfection grips my mind
Choking the air out of my veins pouring me out amongst the decay
I no longer look forward to tomorrow, only to sleep in peace
Eternally slumbering with the others damnation has fed upon
Forgotten by the masses as a person blacked out of memory
No legacy to control my names title I am simply abandoned
I live knowing what would come if I remained
The final stroke of death by my very hand
A small mindset remaining inside the vile beast I had to become
The only way to escape the grip of fate is to embrace it
The only control we have is when, and how we leave
My choice was predetermined by my very mind
Every aspect of my being chemically determined
No chance to be good or evil only to follow the path my mind had built
There is no purity or impurity no valiant or malevolence
Only a putrid reasoning set forth from the moment we’re conceived
And that is god, our own lack of control
Our own victory or defeat at the hands of mortality and mentality
The shadow will eventually take hold in a final grip taking you
In this our verdict is declared, No one is guilty or innocent
Everyone is simply a careless stroke of luck
How will we be remembered regardless of our feelings
Is by the feelings of others, their memories and reminders
Echoing through multiple minds in endless numbers of ways
Inside this vast conspiracy can anybody truly admit to have known us
Considering everyone from our friends to enemies feel different
Truth being nobody knows us, We don’t even know ourselves
How could anyone say what would become in a different scenario
It would be impossible unless we ourselves faced it
Therefore we are all good and evil, angel and demon
For by our choices we are decided
And through that reasoning I am right were I am suppose to be
Not because I have to be or must be or because I want to be
But because my mind said I will be

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
