others will miss out on all their children's games.

Some father's will only make promises to their child;
others will not sleep until the promises are alive and wild.

Some dads say they are too tired;
others will bring magic to a campfire.

Dads are very busy at times;
a true dad will make a child's dreams climb.

Some fathers think "parent" and "serious" are synonymous;
sadly, some dads are mere labels that are anonymous.

Yet there are a few dads that truly stand out;
these dads bring showers of hugs to their children who experience emotional droughts.

You are a member of this rare breed;
you have always taken care of your children's needs.

You have played softball with your daughter;
you have dried her tears after her soul felt slaughtered.

You have set up tents on many summer nights;
you have taught me to stand up for my rights.

You have taken me ice skating on a cold morning;
you have built me a sled during a winter of plentiful storming.

You have done a diligent job as a Dad;
you have inscribed memories in my mind that make me glad.

You have created a legacy for others dads to follow;
some would find all the effort you put forth difficult to swallow.

You have been a terrific Father to me;
I am so honored that being my Dad was your destiny!
