She stood with her legs trembling.
She could feel a vile presence
And an evil aura spreading.

Felt like something caressed her skin
And tried to hold her hand.
The mysterious spectre made the hairs
On the back of her neck stand.

She could see nothing but
Blurred and faint black outlines.
There was a mist surrounding her;
Her limbs were entangled in grape vines.

Pleasant music from bagpipes,
Felt like ambrosia to her ears.
She was going into a trance,
Forgetting all her fears.

She was now endlessly swaying
To the pleasing rhythm of the music.
She felt her body being levitated,
And in the air, her body was static.

All of a sudden, from the dark clouds
Out came the orb of night.
Shining like a pearl in the night sky,
Filling infinite space with moonlight...

As the moon shined brighter,
She began to come out of her reverie.
She was very much frightened by
Things that she now saw clearly.

Hundreds of eyes hungrily staring up at her
As she floated in mid air.
Panic started to fill her chest,
As she knew she could go nowhere.

She was surrounded by ghastly faces
With huge frightening eyes.
Their bodies were nothing but vapour,
The sight wasn’t a bit nice.

They kept her bound and began chanting.
She could see blood everywhere.
She started getting hysteric
She was forever trapped there.
She realised that she was going to be sacrificed
In some ritual, ungodly.
She knew that she was going to die
And she now prayed silently.

Suddenly out of nowhere,
There was a huge blast of light.
The luminescence spread everywhere
Slowly destroying the night!!!

The beasts around her howled as though
They were in excruciating pain.
They started disappearing one by one,
The screams almost drove her insane.

She pondered where the light came from,
It was so powerful and divine.
Her prayers didn’t go unanswered
And she thanked God in her mind!

Now everything was quiet and still
And her feet were on the ground.
Everything was back to normal
There was no one around.

Gladdened that her ordeal was over,
She made her way back home.
She ran swiftly without looking back,
And vowed never to wander off alone.

You wrote this poem based on Raven (Allan Poe's poem)? This seems to have the raven's perspecitve, inspite of difference. I thought very good and precise this words selections on the text. The rimes and metric, very good.
Sum up, very written poetry.

Thanks,

Leandro Monteiro
