You first appeared like a great catch,
Even if it wasn't the perfect match.
A respectable guy,
Enough to make think, let's give it a try.

A marine, an officer of the law,
What could be in store?

Two months pass by,
With the occassional hi.
Both being too shy to set a date,
But now I fear you left it too late.

There is only so long I am willing to wait,
Is it that hard to say lets have a date?
There are only so many excuses you can make,
Even though I know you're busy with your job at the lake.

author note: before you start saying i could have asked him myself.. he generally leaves it to me to start conversations of even say hello when i see him. im sick of making the effort even though he tells me he does want to go out on a date,
