[hometext] => A friend of mine challenged me to write a poem. I've never honestly been a huge fan of poetry, let alone ever written a poem. I wrote this as mainly a self-reflection, as well as my perspective on the behavior of the people who surround me.
[bodytext] => This self-righteous world; insight paralyzed, truth monopolized. We extort dignity and morality in cyclical patterns; biannually. A big white elephant hangs in the room proofing every sentence, censoring every move. Do you really believe what you think you know? Our talk is cheap, our wisdom shallow. But we all have our stories, and lazily we ride it out. Half-assing our way to the next thrill, the next cheap high, and the next piece of legislation to complain about. While CNN tries to guilt us into forming an opinion, we refuse to break the daily habits that we live in. So throw down your borrowed philosophy, your time magazine and it's hypocrisy. Forget fearing god. Forget fearing death. Since after all, we're only sticking around for the weed and the meth. And don't even listen to this cynical testimonial. Who am I? Who are you? It's all so very trivial.
