I saw a million petite stars in the city sky.
It was just the dust particles on my eye.

Now what is that I see dancing upon the surface of the moon?
A constellation bound upon her brow?
Clear, define, untouchable.
A strange ocher she was,
a flash of maeve, a splash of pure.
So divine the beast of man.

Who is who when reality has no bounds?
So which will it be, ace of hearts, face of clown?
In an inhuman race, you and I are just mere players.
So wait until you've drowned,
in the light, in the sound.

One and one, the earth and sun.
The moon had none.
In the blink of an eye,
The world could be gone with a sigh.

With a swirl of her gown,
she had them gasping with delight.
Whoever thought she had the face of a clown?
Fear struck their hearts in replace of the sight.

As my eyes blurred, I couldn't see the dawn.
The future comes so fast, the memories foregone.
O glorious sky,
it was all just a trick of the eye. [comments] => 0 [counter] => 145 [topic] => 31 [informant] => GravityEatsTheDawn [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
