Negative images gouge out happy memories like a knife;
sorrow stalks me stealthily until I have no strength to resist.
Soon my mind and this prison will unify as one;
My power to fight this cell of sorrow will be depleted.
I long to escape this prison of the psyche and be done,
but without a drastic victory, my mind's freedom will be defeated. just when my escape is near, I get further entombed into the abyss.
Negative images gouge out happy memories like a knife;

I like your writting style... just enough said to be able to see the struggle your mind is in and to ensure that my mind does not wander off... Well written!

I like this poem not because I can relate but because I don't. My mind is not trapped it is my play thing I think of so many different things i sometimes wish it were trapped
then maybe people wouldn't call me crazy

most likely not but great poem maybe one day your mind will be liberated
hope to read more soon

I know this feeling. I have been there and struggle daily to escape. Well written. May you find escape yourself, for this is not a very nice place to be. You ever want to talk feel free to message me.
Peace to you,
Thumper ;o)
