I wish I had the chance! [bodytext] => When I was born you use to sing to me,
Rocking me to sleep,
Saying I was your last little baby,
A bond we held so deep,
Always there by my side,
bringing me up with care,
Your last little girl, your little pride,
with the blue eyes & brown hair,
"You will always be my little baby,
No matter how old you are,
I will care for you,till your 80,
whether near or far,"
I will remember all you said,
how those words hold still true,
My prayer before I went to bed,
that was said by only you,
The years past & I grew,
we both gained in age,
No matter what I could count on you,
In our life was another stage,
Im older now with kids of my own,
Trying to raise them well,
I will care for them till they've grown,
The years I will not dwell,
Now I say to you,"you'll always be my mommy,
no matter how hold you are,
I will care for you till I'm 80,
whether near or far."
When you got ill I cared for you,
just like you cared for me,
But when I got that call,at 4:02,
I knew just what it would be,
I wanted to be by your side,
I don't know what went wrong,
I could'nt get there,I really tried,
Before I got there you were gone,
I held you tight ,as I started to cry,
giving you a kiss on your cheek,
I said,"I'm sorry I didnt say Good bye,"
then my body became weak,
I wispered in your ear...................
"You will always be my mommy,
No matter that your not here,
I will love you till I'm 90,
No matter where you are,
In my heart, Heavens not really Far ! " [comments] => 8 [counter] => 278 [topic] => 48 [informant] => lowman613 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

I know exactly how you feel. I never had a chance to say goodbye to my father. That was the one thing I wanted but I never got it. It can be soul-destroying. I believe that he knows that I wanted to though and that is what keeps me going.

Great poem
