Array ( [sid] => 14971 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => I Cannot Express [time] => 2003-03-26 21:25:00 [hometext] => *gasp* this poem doesn't rhyme! However, if you look closely, you will see that there is a distinct pattern to it...and if you look even closer you may notice another pattern hidden within.... [bodytext] => I
cannot
put in words
intense feelings.
Nothing can express
my aching desire to
be able to produce words
worthy of seizing this moment.
Picture perfect seen never before;
yet somehow I cannot find exact words,
brilliant words, needed to capture this image.
Flawless beauty is something I cannot express.

A breath-taking moment leaving you speachless, wonderful experience. Thanx for sharing. I like this work a lot. There is no need for rhyming here.

Thank you kindly for your compliment Kara. :)
This is, however, the only poem I have written that doesn't rhyme.

The poem itself is in pyramid form...very good Nessa! That is one of the patterns in this poem.

However, the inspiration for this poem did not come from a beautiful work of art...or from breath-taking scenery. I was just lounging around on the living room floor...trying to come up with a new type of poem that I could obsess over.

Most styles of poetry (Kyrielle, villanelle, Terza Rima, Lai, Virelai, Sonnets...ETC) follow a certain pattern...whether it be metric feet....rhymes...alternating or repeating verses...etc.

I wanted to try a pyramid type poem (never wrote one before)...but I wanted to do it in My Obsessive Style....so I made the pattern for my poem first...and put words to the beats later..

Sooo...if anyone really wants to know what the other pattern in my poem was...

Go line by line in the poem...each word has a certain ammount of syllables....replace each word by the ammount of syllables it has and you will see Yvonne's Pyramid...(got the idea from Pascal's Triangle...however I modified it a bit since I cannot find too many words with 10, 15, 20, 35, and 70 (etc) syllables...LOL)

I'm not really obsessive...honest...*evil grin*

FACINATING....but.....FACINAATIING!!!!!

This is an education.

Something is bound to come of it

I'm on a "journey into another mindscape"
perhaps that's the title for a poem

Thank you for dropping by again Wrybod, Nessa and I love company :)

"journey into another mindscape" sounds like it would make an interresting poem...but a very difficult piece to write. I wish you all the best in composing it. :)
