A naïve unwanted creep.
He wakes up early everyday,
And doesn’t let any of his victims sleep.
He gives no warning of his arrival.
Time in the dark he spends.
He comes when you’re alone,
Tags along when you’re with friends.

He’s loud enough to wake you up,
But shy enough to go alone.
He isn’t patient to wait for you.
Feelings-he only thinks of his own.
You can try your best to hide him.
You can deny him all you want.
He will always be lurking behind you.
No matter how strong your front.

You may just start to accept him.
But embracing him-beware.
He’ll become your constant reason for tears.
You’ll look at him with your far-off stare.
He wants his own company;
So you’ll rarely be left alone.
He may spend months at your place,
For depression has no home.

He’ll be there after every fight,
Screaming loudly in your ear.
His thoughts, ideas, and suggestions
Will introduce you to a man called fear.
Fear will manipulate you
To be terrified of yourself.
When depression is your stalker,
You learn to blame no one else.

He can be quiet high maintenance;
So families be scared.
He’ll take up all your sons’ and daughters’ times,
Bonds he’ll quickly tare.
He may even start to numb you;
That selfish little man,
From happiness that once filled you,
Which will blow away like sand.

The more you let him visit you,
The more difficult it is to run away.
Once he has you in his grip,
It becomes hard to see a better day.
He’s everywhere, He’s every time.
You will never see him rest.
He wants to be the center of attention,
So don’t think he’ll ever let you do your best.

If you are just meeting this man,
Consider yourself done.
He has abilities you’d never imagine.
This fight with him is a battle never won.
