To make up for the lack of his own.
His hearts been weakening by the day,
But he stubbornly fights life's battle alone.

He yells so loudly to block out the noise
Screaming from his aching heart.
Each moments one length short of happiness.
He's mastered detatchment down to an art.

He fails to see the beauty now
Gleaming from his daughters' eyes.
He only sees what he has become
Trying to save his family from pain with lies.

He drifts farther away from life
And slides numbly into a steady routine.
The pattern seems cold but normal to the outside,
Thoughts and hurt remain unseen.

It's still dark outside when he awakens
Blindly steps into his car to drive,
He hits the gas with one half-hearted push;
Unknowning that these are his last moments alive.

He speeds up on his familiar route,
Barely paying attention to the road.
He takes a turn he knows quiet well.
All feelings inside of him explode.

He presses the gas much harder now
While his car winds out of control.
He shuts his eyes and sees his past,
The weight of his family's suffering and the life that he just stole.

That was the last the world knew of him,
The last of the pain that he will see.
He grips the wheel with regret and heartache,
As his car meets the unforgiving tree.

It's still too early for the world to be aware,
But already help is on the way.
Witnesses stand anxiously
As they bow their heads to pray.

There is nothing they can do
To save what they call the "unidentified man."
They make great efforts to save him,
But fail to reach what is enough, just what they can.

But how could they not know him?
Why didnt he mean more?
They named him "unidentified."
What great justice does that do him for?

He was worshipped by his town.
He was talented beyond belief.
He is in the hearts of a countless amount
And will be the cause of unimaginable grief.

He was a riot to his family,
And a loyal trustworthy friend.
He was a man to make you smile,
And his memory will surely see no end.

The world will change here without him,
And maybe people will start to see,
They should appreciate what they have,
This man was like a dad to me.

His family will be sure to moarn him,
And living without him will be hard.
Most people can't imagine
Going on with life after being so scarred.

His family should be honored.
Theyre stronger than a person should need to be.
They carry on together.
The most complete incomplete family.

I will always miss him.
The pain will never cease.
But he's in a better place now.
Father, Husband, Friend- may you rest in peace.

This is amazingly beautiful...even in its sadness.... Reading the first verse made me think of a clown...
Thank you for sharing this.. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it...
