The shadows are what beckon us
And it is there that we live in glory
Breathing in the shock and confusion
Of all that you leave in your wake

We are the Bringers.

And we consume all that frightens you
Laughing in the face of your petty fears
While you squeeze your eyes shut
And tell yourself that this is just a dream

We are Nightmares.

We own the hours between dusk and dawn
And you walk in them with our consent
By our grace, you remain safe, none the wiser

We are the night.

Creepy night thingies living in glory. How dare they!!! You're right, I do like the dark ones and this is no exception. I'm afwaid and now I'm might have to sleep with the lights on. Nice one, Dawnie. :-)

I am an adorer of great Mother "Sri Kaali" who represents the eternal time and who is darker than the darkest energies of the universe.
In fact she is the light behind all lights. I love to read a dark poem just for entertainment and I smile here as I am a fearless one among all.
God bless, I enjoyed your write :-) venkat

Foreboding.
I like the clash between fear and confidence. It forms a nice rhythm!

Oh hunni! I LOVE this!! I can't believe I didn't see this before, (oh wait ... yes, yes
I can. The last three weeks to a month have been kinda a blur). This, as Jecks says
is so foreboding. There is darkness yes, but some form of comfort as well. I love the
night, but at the same time it frightens me and sometimes gives me the worst
anxieties. And yet, to me, the night time is still quiet...serene ... pensive.

This one is a bit scary...kinda like the night herself. Fantastic imagery!!

*love and hugs*
