It’s hard to believe it can be so undone
The meek of the child, who’s kind and unsung
Becomes a true friend to those who have none

So when they grow up and have roles to fill
You wouldn’t believe how bitter the pill
The brash and the brazen are not wanted at all
By those who need trust, not a man that can brawl

The meek of the child, all now fully grown
Has kindness to give and is rarely alone
Through thinking and giving, the strength of the man
Means liking by others and many a fan

Look out for your young when a man you become
To see what they’re like and the signs of what’s done
The brash and the brazen are easily praised
But the meek of the child is what should be raised

wow, Bryan, a very insightful piece. The metre and rhyming was lovely,
but the content (message) was exceptional. Though I do believe there is
a happy medium in there somewhere. In society, the various roles
each of us play, make up the tender threads that hold civility together.
You know? ^_^

This was grand. A fine post!
