You can't trust them (don't ever run away again)

Run away
Darling dear, run away
Another fight
Another punch
Run away, again
Forever, run away...

Comfort
They said,
"You're safe here,"
Though they never told you
And they never said
They loved you
They hid
They hid their evil plot
And you trusted
And you believed
You believed the
And hung onto every word of hope
That spilled out of their
Evil mouths

You're so young
So troubled and naive
You couldn't see the
Betrayal carved in their eyes
They fooled you,
They fooled you good

Now I'm crying
Now it's pouring
From my eyes
Baby girl,
Why'd you run away?
You could of just took my hand

It's now that I hear your story
You're shaking on the other side
And I can't hold you
No, I can't hold you in my arms tonight
As I read and re-read these letters
On this screen

You are
Lucky to be alive, my dear
Oh so lucky
They found you in time
I am lucky
That they found you in time

Images of what could be
Haunt my mind
As I thank the world
That you're alive

And now I cry
Now I die
Every second
That these thoughts float by
I see you there
Naked
Raped
Dead
Bloody
Rotting
In a barrel
Six feet under
In a field
Way out in the country side
I wouldn't of even known
No one would of ever known...

These thoughts won't leave my mind
Torturing me
I can see
Torture scenes...
Honey,
I am so glad that
You are alive

it is a very good read..emotional and moving to say the least.
I have no children so i cant really relate to it, but the imagery of the poem is such that i could almost imagine the panic, fear, and relief.....kudos

Truly a powerful Emotional piece of writing. This is one of teh fears of every parent or anyone who has children in their lives that they are close to.

I pray you never have to experience this again.
