And when it’s done and the smoke blows black death
I will throw back my head and dance beneath your ruin
Because I gave you chances to turn your own tide
To stop this final ravaging ride within the dark of night
Remember that when you are turned away by the light.

With a breath of blood and ashes, I will move
Through all you have protected and held dear,
All the paper houses and folded treasures
And I will burn them from the inside out
With all the fury that gallops through my veins.

You think you’re safe there, behind your walls

Away from me and mine and all we represent

Some of these lines were quite brilliant, with excellent, memorable imagery:

-All the paper houses and folded treasures
And I will burn them from the inside out

-But there is nothing that will stand after I exhale.

-I will throw back my head and dance beneath your ruin

Those were my favorite part, anyhow. Nicely done.

Oh yes... VERY powerful, seething with a vengeful anger, a low growl of something hidden, and relentless. I love this. I'm partial to dark writing, and unfortunately the work that I see sometimes has grown tedious, but you added a lovely flare. The title drew me in immediately. Excellent imagery, I enjoyed this quite thoroughly, thank you for sharing with us, dear Loende, and many thanks for your comment, :). I do appreciate it very much. Great prose. I love your imagery..the fury galloping through your veins....

The smoke blowing black death....just wonderful!
