Lies the drabbest oyster; where cinereal exists
Submersed in limpid waters; patiently obscured
Eager for a grain of sand; an irritant endured

Aloft on winds of destiny, fate brings forth a legacy
Offering tiny sips of lime; timeless in its delicacy
Amidst the blankets Nacre, twirled inside the gloss
Measuring the season; a luminescent is embossed

Cast within this shell, unhurried with delay
An opulent De Novo; evolves in such a way
Caught within a teardrop, a treasure will unfurl
Poised in tranquil nature the saga of the pearl

Life may treat unkindly; tears may mark your heart
Years might bring you lonely; hope seems all for naught
Strength is still evolving and time it slowly heals
Bringing forth the beauty, a teardrop will reveal

If you should discover a pearl inside of you
Hold onto its promise; hope will be renewed
If sadness is your oyster; life is oft unfair
Think about the sand; there’s a reason it’s in there

This poem seems to have despair and hope intertwined. It provoked many thoughts within me.

And, I do not know why, this line Caught within a teardrop, a treasure will unfurl
just seemed to reach out, grab me, and it said "hey".

Very nice writing, K. :-)

Kye this is absolutely flawless! What a gorgeous metaphor
and the last two stanzas are brilliant! There is boundless
wisdom wrapped up around the beauty of your words.
Very sagely. I could get lost inside this and not care to
ever be found.

Beautifully written, dear poet. ^_^

Pearls are a great treasure, from the sea or from a life hurting experience. I guess we've all had a couple of those.
