A place when as child I once knew
I am sitting here to reminisce
Of this place that I do miss

A picnic feast on the grass
We would watch the people pass
Tabuli, chicken and Lebanese bread
A feast, the party is still in my head

On the sand as children we played
Until dusk by the water we stayed
We saw many people that came and went
But we stayed and played until totally spent

So many years have passed this place
And I have searched the human race
The water has turned from cool to cold
And now I am getting somewhat old

I only have one more whim
To jump in the water for a swim
Out to the depths of the ocean tide
To catch a wave, my last ride.

Oh yes, I wish to swim again,
In places long forgotten.
Old bouts I, have yet to mend.
Once love, sad spoiled rotten.

"On the sand as children we played
Until dusk by the water we stayed"

These lines reminded me of the days when my Mom would bring our lunch by the sea because she couldn't get us to come home to eat... We lived just across the street from the beach and would often spend all day there....

Thanks for the memories this stirred up for me...
Jenni
