With everything said before this day
For fear the day has passed me by
And my fate will make me cry

Your spoken words to heed my pain
To quench the thirst of the rain
To hold your hand and feel the bliss
Of when you gave that loving kiss

Leaving me cold in a strange way
So in bed late I will stay
Even under a warm blue sky
I kneel before you to ask why

On my sheet, my life, to leave no stain
And give me strength so not to wane
Your laugh, your beauty I really miss
I am nothing without you, my accomplice

Not too shabby, friend.
I did think some of the rhymes were a little forced... poetry doesn't HAVE to rhyme, and I'd be really interested to read something of yours written in (so-called) free verse. I hate the term, because it's actually much harder unless you treat it like some kind of blog. Regardless, keep up the good work, I really liked the poem.

Aw, very nicely written but sad. Good job and I can so relate.

Take care and thank you for an enjoyable read.
