Almost free, yet forever trapped.
Skin gone cold and eyes gone black.
Sorrow in each breath as I watch my life leek,
Out of my head and down my right cheek
I l ay in wait, but their still aren't tears
Because i'm locked in my head with nothing but my fears.
Breathing gets harder, moving impossible.
Everything sounds distant and my words are inaudible.
My vision starts to blur, but I don't dare close my eyes,
'Cause i'm just like everyone and everyone dies.
I think of the boy i'll never kiss again.
I think of every last one my friends.
I think of all the things that I regret.
I think of every challenge i've ever met.
I keep thinking of my boy, I miss him already.
I keep wishing my heartbeat would somehow steady.
I could curl up into a ball and lay on his chest
And awake to find all this a cruel dream or silly test.
I could look into his gorgeous eyes for one last time
And smile just knowing that for a while he was mine.
Alas, my thoughts must end, I must exhale,
I guess this was one silly test I couldn't help, but to fail.

A beautiful, tragic poem.
