You were the port in the storm
On that cold winters eve
Your fires kept me warm
On my darkest of days
You were the light in the room
In my garden of thorns
You are the rose in full bloom
When my world was an empty
And a desolate place
You filled it with joy
With a smile on your face
You could see i was broken
But put me together again
Your loving embrace
Helped to ease my pain
When i was tired of living
You were my intake of breath
You were the reason i needed
To choose life over death.

I notice that you posted it under Sad Poetry and oh yes, there are some sad points. But it must bring you some great joy to have someone in your life like that.

My wife left me because I was sick for too long. Who woulda thunk, huh? So much for in sickness and health.

I think it's great that she stuck by your side!!!

Nice poem and well written. Nice to have you still among us. I am sure she is happy and obviously you are. Thank you for sharing that experience with the rest of us.

Take care and thank you for an enjoyable read.

Tim
