Back in Freshman year
When everything was new and bright
And shadows danced in evening light
And every moment seemed just right
Names written in the snow

Band tours sleeping on gym floors
Fulfilled a dream for me
And every holiday event
Was filled with sappy memories spent
Going everywhere that one guy went
And hiding behind doors

How these four years have sifted by
And now I'm where I am
Where everything's been done before
And gym floors only make me sore
Don't want anyone anymore
Don't let them see you cry

I don't know what has made the change
Four years ago to now
The holidays make my skin creep
Or stress me with duties to keep
Let me go home and get some sleep
My thoughts have rearranged

Some people say I'm more mature
And that I'm growing up
If that's what took the joy away
Then take me to another day
When simple magic seemed to play
Now nothing is for sure

Now nothing is for sure... [comments] => 4 [counter] => 283 [topic] => 44 [informant] => toomuchfreetime [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )

A very vivid look into your life and feelings.
Yes I too long for a time when things seemed laid back and simple. Life is so dramatic now and I am tired........ I relate to this. I do I do.

I have found at times in this crazy evil world and such drama as we know life to be now we need to search the depths and make and find our own magic or get sucked up in the depths of living in hell. Sorry I am having hard time right now and I see life as nothing but hell lol.......

Hope things get better for you soon

Hugs
Michelle

You painted a vivid picture in my head and gave me corresponding emotions. Very enjoyable read...

I liked how you ended with "now nothing is for sure..." because it leaves it open to possibility.

With Love,
~Butterfly
