I can hear your sweet words soft as the rain.
For a moment today I almost thought you were right here.
Maybe you were but I could not see,
so clouded with life and washed over by blue.

Tomorrow you will be placed to rest
in the final space, where the wind sighs through the pines.
Up in the valley tall on the hill
where you dwelled for many years of your life.

I wont be able to be there and I am so sad.
From a distance I need to say goodbye.
Remembering all the good about you
a kindred soul in this life so hard to find.

~Whispers of you light in my mind~
~Whispers of you soft as the rain~
~Rain tapping again on the windowsills~
~Rain in my heart, clouds unrestrained~

~A smile through the tears~
~Remembering a big fish~
~Caught while out on the boat~
~One of many a fishing trips~
~Idaho winds, across Palisades~
~Sun big as the earth, melting pot summers day~
~The sun in your soul, the spirit of kind~
~The fun that we had, the kind of man that you were~
~The bright smile in your eyes whenever we would meet~
~The peaceful calm instilled betwixt between~
~The kisses and hugs and all of your love~
~Dear uncle how I have always loved you~

I shall forever hold you near my heart
and embrace only the whispers of you.

I have always loved you sweet Uncle of mine and I will miss you dear man.

~Michelle~

Absolutely beautiful. Touching. I'm sorry for your loss. I too just recently lost an uncle of mine on January 15th of this year. I feel your pain. It's very difficult to go through when you share so many good memories. I plan on posting what I wrote for my uncle whenever the website allows me another submission. Take care and remember: The good times never fade, so lock them inside of your heart and throw away the key.

My friend, this is so full of love and sadness. You have honored your Uncle with this eloquent and heartfelt write. As always your words touch the readers heart. I am so sorry for your loss, but the memories will always live inside you :)

I chose this poem to read because the title was so captivating.

You brought tears to my eyes and memories to the surface.

I'm sorry that you have lost such a wonderful uncle.

You are so endearing and you fill every poem with the inner you that is a mirage of beautifully penned emotions.
