Array ( [sid] => 148360 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Anonymous 2: [time] => 2009-03-07 13:54:32 [hometext] => This poem was written for a friendship which came to a close. [bodytext] => Did I really ever exist?
Or perhaps I never really lived
Am I just a mirror image of a shadow that was meant to be
Am I an array of light that is not meant to be seen by the world
I come and go without a trace
Some will remember the shattering of light while others will not
Most will not remember the light for they are lost in the darkness of night
Others will hold onto the light as quickly as it comes and departs
They will never notice that light can overtake light
As the darkness will overcome darkness
When the light shines through
Darkness scatters
For Darkness is afraid of light
Light is all good
It brings forth joy and suffering
But darkness only brings more darkness

Did I really ever exist
As the trees shimmer as light shines through
The light from the shadows block out the darkness
It scatters it as if the moonlight
Takes on the suns reflection
Sending rays across the vast beauty of the forests
Falling like simple beams of light
Onto the forest floor
Revealing the emptiness of sorrow
When the lilies fade
And the moss takes over
For the light cannot be seen by the darkness
It is overtaken by grief and wandering

Did I ever really exist
As the moon fades on the distant horizon
The moon no longer reflects off the Sun’s goodness
The brightness of the moon cannot be seen
Nor the distant rays of warmth from the Sun
Life is scattered as innocence is take away
Joy of the river bend
The rustling of the creek
The cobblestones are silent as if the babbling creek has stopped
For the Sun and moon are no longer one
There is no more light within the dark
For the moon has gone out
The Sun refuses to reflect its rays off the moon
So light can exist in the darkness

Did I ever really exist
As the mountains bring joy
An array of hope to all those who are lost
For those who are mourning
As if one never felt the brilliant chill of air
Of wintertime or the mountains
As the snow begins to fall as to purify the earth
From the darkness within
The lingering of wanting to be
Escapes our mind as we look
Onward and see the beauty folding
Beyond our very eyes
For the Sun and Moon is one
The Sun reflects of the Moon
To brighten what is hidden
The Sun needs the moon
And the Moon needs the Sun
If the Moon did not exist
The Sun would not exist
It reveals what is not known to the human eye
The vastness of what has come and what will come
For if light really over took light
Darkness will not exist

Did I ever really exist?
Or perhaps have I never really lived……
