Where sunrises speak
Of the promise of coming days

I know of a place
Where the championship surfer
Meets the crest of “the big wave”

A place where ice cream tastes sweeter,
And the aroma of cotton candy is almost tangible,
Hanging in the air of an amusement park
As the blues, pinks, reds, yellows, and greens
Of neon lights,
Illuminate a star lit night.

I know a place where
The timing is always perfect
The stars are always bright
And the rings of Saturn can be seen from Earth

I am happy that I’ve seen this place
And I’m happy that you’ve taken me there.
For it is the place that is never too far,
Never too much hassle
Never too much work,
And it’s never any trouble at all.

It’s the place where I drop everything
Just to see you for ten minutes
It’s the place where I stay up
Until four in the morning
Just to hear that you made it home safely

It’s the place where doing nothing…
…meets waiting for your call…

It’s the place before the big wave crests,
Before the first bite of ice cream.

The time when the first firework is still ascending to its burst point
The place where the roller coaster train is at the top of the first hill,
Before it plunges its riders into an indescribably pleasant feeling

It’s the moment before my fingers interlock with yours,
As my hand touches your palm for the first time.

It’s the time when our eyes meet,
And say everything without saying a word

It is that moment when I turn my head ever so slightly
And I watch you shut your eyes
Knowing,
Waiting,
In joyful anticipation,
For our lips to meet,
For the first time.

yes, i've been writing about the euphoric biss, ultrareality side of love (or as i prefer, adoration) quite a lot lately. i think you covered the concept well, which was great to see. a very intelligent piece of writing, well done.
