the castles melt back into sand that were built to high

the emptiness of life renewed from the shock of having to work together
building something that gives to our planet and not taking away

My family lives in the shadow of an oil refinery
nights i have watched the flame dance pushing its smoke
the news reports say all in its wake have become sick
the death known as cancer is eating the people in its shadow
my own mother is dying that fuel eating the only thing i have never understood
and taking away my chance to tell her i do not understand but i still love her
but corporation is killing and its black soot is in our lungs in her lungs

time is become overbearing and the chime of lets drink, shop and forget has become deaf to my ears
we are the whoops generation here take this, sorry that will kill take that
we are the ultimate in experiments a test tube of sorts
when will they begin to understand they have started to kill us all
we are not of our former glory
we have become lost
our water will become nothing
our land will be overdone
the push for a higher generation
has pushed to hard

This really choked me up. I am so sorry to hear about your Mother and I so relate to this. Not necessarily about the oil company but most definitely the loss (or losing) of a loved one to that censored disease!!! I understand the anger. My sister died of cancer on August 25, 2006. I could say so much more but they're probably not words you need to hear at this time. Just know I understand the anger and my heart goes out to you.
