I want to take this opportunity today
To express my gratitude to you.
For bringing your son into this world
And into my heart, so true .

From you he learnt to be caring,
From you he learnt to be kind.
You taught him all of life’s virtues,
A more considerate man I couldn’t find.

Your tenderness, love and compassion,
All that you’ve passed down to him,
Have made my life so happy,
Life without him would have been grim.

So today I give thanks to you, Ma,
On the anniversary of Jeff’s birth,
May you both have a lot more years
Of this wonderful life here on earth.
