"I just wish that I had told her that...

...that I loved her."

"Oh, she knew, she knew!
And the truth is that...she loved you, too."

And oh! Did you know
how my heart swelled when you told me
that she had loved me too?...

...swelled with joy, with pain, with
all the agony of that revelation...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...I stood in the surf,
my toes digging into sand,
the tide swirling around my ankles,
watching the place
where the water meets the sky...
...fell to my knees,
felt the wind-driven mists
splash my face, mix with tears and
the memory of her...
...and how she had walked
into the depths that day...
....and stood, and knew,
and walked into the pounding surf,
while funeral songs fell
around me, deeper and deeper
and deeper...
...and the sadness
and the peace
as I joined her at last
beneath the waves. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 296 [topic] => 22 [informant] => 3660Days [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )
