Array ( [sid] => 147817 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => My Rusty [time] => 2009-02-05 23:51:24 [hometext] => this poem is about the most loyal loving friend a child could ever have, my dog Rusty [bodytext] => I’ll miss the walks most of all
Just you and me alone to explore
New and old places alike
You were my true traveling companion

We’d walk to the park, your favorite place
Around the lake once or twice
The happiness would shine from your face
Those were the best times of your life

I knew you forever as long as I can remember
You were the best friend I ever had
And when you left it felt as if I lost a brother
And nothing could stop my heart from breaking

Even when you were old,
I never thought it would occur
I thought you’d live forever
I thought you’d always be there when I came home

You were so unique,
I can never replace you
I just can’t accept another dog
You left a void that can’t be filled

I can’t see a picture of you without hurting
I miss you so much I want to cry
I hope a heaven for animals exists
Because never seeing you again is a thought I cannot bear.
