So I held him between my arms with my hand on his chest, which felt the slow sleeping beat of his heart. I felt the love passing between us despite his unconscious state. As my heart attempted to find a steady beat I placed my hand on his head to stroke his short hair. He awoke for a short minute only to move closer to me. I told him, sh its okay come here, and I pulled the blankets over us more and I placed my cheek against his. My hands happened to find his and I traced the way to his finger tips. Despite the black of night, I looked him in the eyes, and I knew I was because I got that floppy feeling in my stomach. I whispered I love you more than anything. I stroked his hair once and pressed my lips to his forehead and I could feel the cool of his sweat. This alone made my heart exclaim in pure love.
