Who lost his zeal for life.
His world was full of sorrow,
Of pain, and hopeless strife.

He met a girl named Joy.
And yes that woman’s you!
He chose your heart,
Right from the start,
To make his life brand new.

He gave you love so freely.
You were always on his mind.
He provided what he could for you,
And you always owned his time.

For you are what he lived for,
From the day he chose your heart.
He knew that he would die for you
Or from your side he’d never part.

But you would never love him back.
You held a carrot by a string,
And dangled it in front of him,
For years now did the jackass bring,

His heart out on a platter.
His wishes and dreams for you.
His service and his worship.
And he brought them all for you.

The more he worked to have you,
The farther you walked apart.
Perhaps he should have ended his life,
That same night he chose your heart!

Dear Christina,
If you wouldn't mind, could you contact me personally at my home email as I have a question for you that I'd like to remain personal. I have visited your home page and find your work there quite beautiful, just like your picture and heart. Thank you for all your kind words. I very much enjoy your poetry as well and believe we have a lot in common as far as what we carry around inside of ourselves. Love,
Rob
