Faith—
The end lies in wait for the hour to rise, when the strength of our desire wavers, and our brooches and pins fall clattering to the floor, when our hands no longer clench the sprigs of life or our eyes the hour of our descent.
Some say love is madness; that two mouths cradling the fingers of a new lovers kiss, hollow and crestfallen, unconcerned with the precipice or the jagged rocks below, consumed by love and her companions, is an empty hell, a craving for needless faith.
As lovers fall, so do the roses in the gardens of autumn, cowering in the shadows of the dead, bending low at the chill, rebuked, as the winds of love rebuke us, by the sunlight and the shade, fallen gray and still.
Our love is fragile, our hearts tremble and sleep, our songs speak before a council of sorrow, the dreams of our songs speak also, awaiting the day set idly into motion, awaiting the words of a new song, the notes of a new beginning.
As the end is come into fruition, so is the new seed scattered in the gardens. As our hands grow old with earth, so do new hands spring from the waters of life. The hours of our love are of mortar and sand, the break of day diverting, streaks and bands of light reverting to cast the hands of time away.

It is so wonderful. I wish I could write like this. I suppose I just need to practice more, I'm much less of an abstract writer, but wonderful, all the same, but oh so different =). |
