she said
the opposite of the Summer Ones.

My blooms
peak in deep snow
and I weather
hail, sleet and angry gale.

My Summer Kin
know the Sun.

I live beneath
White Winter's Glow
and withstand
blizzard wind
and furies blowing.

I produce
anti-freeze
and survive
the winter's
cold mold.

My petals
are steel-forged
for winter has made
me strong.

My bulb forces it's way
up through frozen ground
and defiant
I face the worst of Winter's onslaughts.

My petals
fold and unfold
peak,
and stare winter down.

I am the Winter Flower
beautiful in my Ice Tower.

I too,
have my Ice Prince
who plants upon me
an Icicle Kiss
beneath diamond shining
beautiful,
frosty
wintry stars. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 242 [topic] => 43 [informant] => lnnie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

a beautiful poem, the imagery was stunning. you seem to be able to combine great content with a flowing structure, which always makes for a great poem. the last stanza was simply superb.

i enjoyed the vision,..i didnt cross it over to human format until the last stanza, think it allowed me to embrace the landscape of how salt and earth we truly are,..well done.

I loved the vivid imagery and metaphors in this poem. You show vulnerability in this poem, which I applaud, as it makes it seem less "mechanical" or "fabricated." Very pure...
