Array ( [sid] => 146860 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => What We Need To Breathe [time] => 2008-12-15 21:00:20 [hometext] => Sometimes we lie to ourselves so much that we lose our true feelings somewhere along the way. Don't lose out on something right, just because you find that you like being wrong... or you are too afraid to take a chance. [bodytext] =>

Who made you blind to what you need to see?
Open your eyes and wont you come to me?
It's not a case of what you want to be,
it's what you need to feel...

I could hold you for one hundered years,
be there for you to wipe your tears,
I would try to save you from your fears,
but you need to let me near...

I know you're lost inside but so am I,
perhaps together we can realise why,
we'll hold each other when we need to cry,
and we wont have to hide...

We'd stand up tall and never look away,
and through it all we would still find our way,
it wouldn't matter what the world would say,
we'd face them and be unafraid..

Who made you blind to what you need to see?
Open your eyes and won't you come to me?
It's not a case of what you want to be,
it's embracing what you need...

And this is what we need

~to breathe.

A brave and braw write, my kindred sister. It's a deep and very heart-filled message as well. I love the breaking up of the last line, that worked nicely. I love the whole of it, but my favorite lines, by far:

It's not a case of what you want to be,
it's embracing what you need...

Lovely work, as always. You are a rare and beautiful soul and I hope you find peace in this. Thank you for posting it.

Be well,
~dawn

You graced the pages with your beautiful poetry once more. Splendid write my dear.
The ending is so solid and

to breath powerful.

My sister says ok JUST BREATH and it is so darn true.

Sweetie, it's good to read something new from you. I think I've
forgotten how to breathe ....

thank you for reminding me. This is an amazing piece of work here.
I love how calm and soothing it is. You have this uncanny ability
to always make me stop and think a while. And realize ... things
are not always as they seem ...

Miss you sweets ~ Hopefully I'll be able to get on more often soon.
Life is weird -- stay real. ^_^ Hope you are well.

~ Breezy

A very lovely heartfelt write Philly.

I have spent a long year trying to learn to breathe again. Today and in the days to come I believe I needed to read this and will be returning frequently to remind myself what it is to breathe.

Thank you for sharing your strength and wisdom.

With Peace and Love in my Heart

~Shannon

...seems tp be an indepth expression of a desire for a deep intimate relationship.with a long term commitment. It strikes me as a very romantic and loving gentle expression of intimacy.

Good write

Great advice, so much so that it brings to mind a question; Why is it that it's so much easier to give good advice to others, but be so blind as to not take it yourself?
I feel I am often a victim of this.
Great piece lil sis.
