Obeisance splayed upon bended knee
To hear sweet words that love may say
To recover such beloved as thee

My longing ire’s against what’s naught
What slipped away my one precious gift
From tireless joy to laboriously fraught
Faith that one day my soul will be shrift

No other prayers, no other credence
There’s naught ever more tangible a fray
Than to fight dying love’s impedance
Finding again that most treasured cache

Not a day’s moment, not one moment given
Does the hope do not pass to finally be shriven
