News broken, crushes like a rock on already heavy heart
Thoughts bleed into one another, emotions fight for prominence
Through the open battlefield of encumbered soul

In the still of early morning,as angels walked in moonwashed corridors
Tending silhouettes served but could not save
As the father left, discarded earth with the quietest of goodbyes
They spoke his name, closed his eyes and he was gone

Is death kind when it eases suffering, banishes pain?
Or cruel mocking master to those of us left behind
Conscience leads the mind where the heart cannot follow
Hope is the deceiver, now the mirror is cracked

How can we reclaim ourselves, rebuild with missing pieces
A part of us is stolen and will never be returned
Those haunting words you wrote to me still echo in my head
I am strong...................until someone is nice. tragic story, i offer my regards, but the poem itself is very good. it explores the concept of death thoroughly. i particularly like this bit:

Is death kind when it eases suffering, banishes pain?
Or cruel mocking master to those of us left behind

an interesting way of exploring death. i would say death was both, but what would i know?

Thank you Steve, for being a dear friend, and for being there for me when I needed one. I'm still strong until someone is nice...I guess I always will be. But I never expected my words to lead to such a wonderful poem.
Love you! xxx
Kat
