my last day

Contributed by lostforgood on Friday, 21st March 2003 @ 04:08:53 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Night has fallen
And I am bawlin’
I can hear the darkness callin.’

The moons up high,
Shining bright,
And the stars are dancing across the sky.

I decide to take a moonlit walk
I open up the gates padlock
And I walk the length of the dock.

I peer out across the water
It’s calm and smooth without a bother
I know now that the time is near.

I reach into my pocket
And pull out my sharp blade,
I wish it hadn’t come to this, but now there’s no delay.

I turn my head up to gaze once more
I breathe in deep and get ready to pass through this door
The blade cuts deep and I drop to the boards.

Now I lay there, watching…
My red blood’s dripping,
My eyes are tearing.

The drips disturb the peaceful water,
My blood and tears swirl together,
Then disappear in the depths of the darkness.

My breaths are coming really short
I can make no movements of any sort,
My eyelids close I can see no more.

This is it, I’m finally gone
My thoughts are the only thing going on
And I’m hearing this real sad song.

Maybe I should have spared my life
Instead of taking it with that knife,
I realize that I didn’t even say goodbye.

What have I done
To become this way
Now I’ll never see another day.
