Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder;
whisky, most sublime
turns boozers into poets
and ramblings into rhyme

Beer is quintessential
to the philosophy of the whole,
while vodka is the royal road
to confessions of the soul

Tequila, gin and ouzo
all have their place;
the one between the atoms
that solidify the face

Champagne! for nothing special
just to celebrate in style
and wine, seductive Janus
draws tears along with smiles

Yes, absinthe makes the heart fondest,
wine for love and woe;
beer for the thoughtful
and spirits for the glow
headaches do arise, and
regrets - more than a few;
but there is always evening’s promise
of an aperitif or two.

SALUT!

well certainly something different, i liked it, it was funny and flowed superbly. i particularly liked this bit:

Tequila, gin and ouzo
all have their place;
the one between the atoms
that solidify the face

very good imagination indeed. very good poem.
