Meaningless phrases

That strong bond secured by cords
of unending loyalty, trust and love now seem a haze
As you hear the excuses and pathetic reasons
Of the one you have trusted with your life.
Now you recognize the seering pain of treason
As your hit with full realization, gutted as if with a knife.

Rambling words
meaningless phrases.

You hear yourself say "Just be honest, tell me the truth"
No excuses this won't numb the pain.
This is you trying to make your own mind soothed
As the lies and deceit fall from his treacherous mouth like rain
That mouth that kissed and loved you his wife
The woman whose only failing was to love him wholly
Make his home bear his kin give of your life
Be a man be honest  admit you're mistakes be lowly
Swallow your pride and maybe we can salvage this marriage

a very saddening poem, i feel for you. a very hard hitting and passionate poem, dishonest men should read this and realise how much pain they cause.

Wow, you definitely hit the nail on the head with this one! People just suck, don't they sometimes? Odd that I read it tonight too as my deceitful lying son-in-law just left my daughter recently. How apropos. She would have never done this to him and that's not a father's bias. You definitely captured the mood! Very nicely done and pwerful I might add.

Take care,

Tim
