The peaceful sound, of a gentle river
Flowing easily downstream
Makes me wonder, how a little further down
Can turn the softest sound, into a roaring thunder

The silky white clouds above
Dance across the soft blue sky
And I watch, as a dove, is about to get lost
In the dark gray clouds about to arrive

Chorus
I just don’t know where this world is going, anymore
When will all the other people, just open their eyes
And look at what’s right in front of them
When will the sun shine down on us
So we can live in the light of our time, and step away
From our shadows

Walking through the streets, you can see people
Aren’t as nice as they can be
It’s like looking for a rose in a garden of weeds
Finding someone who shows a little hospitality

Chorus

Passing by the rapids, after the falls
Looking past all the roughs of the stream
You can hear the once familiar sound of the
River flowing, passing by, softly, slowly
To the gentle sound of the dove in its home
In the nest of a tree, far away from the dark clouds

Guitar Solo

Chorus

Will I be able to find some hospitality
Will I find some friendly faces
Will I find that rose in the garden of weeds
If I go a little further downstream

I read the poem and loved it. I wish I could hear it being sung. I am sure it would be beautiful.

Wow! I loved both song and poem. You draw a great picture with your words. You also pose a good question-I hope we can find a rose within all these weeds. Take care.
