Array ( [sid] => 146334 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => A Midnight Liaison With a Ghost [time] => 2008-11-15 11:44:29 [hometext] => Lawley is a little village in Telford, Shropshire the Midlands area of England, Sadly now its undergoing massive construction destroying it Village appeal. [bodytext] => This is the story of the Ghosts of the Midnight Romance,
A Poignant story that you will feel,
But first it is required of me,
Some Description to make this real.

In a small green in a little village called Lawley
It is Late and the clouds they surf the skies,
whilst some shadows dance the streets
These are locked in each others eyes.

The Wind plays the leaves in the trees,
and caresses her ghostly hair,
but the Lovers in this midnight romance,
they are too in love to care.

How true their love for them to be still here,
her hands fall into his and electrify their eyes.
Their eyes sooth each others lips
Its now so late that the sun may rise.

These spectres of that feeling we so name,
are locked in complex conversation,
however it is not their words but,
their eyes that show their admiration.

What bliss these Apparitions must be feeling,
now wordless but as we know words are not always needed.
Its in this that the reader knows
The importance of actions should be heeded

These spirits are breathing deep and slow,
the rush of adrenaline pushing it high in their chests,
how envious am I,
of these ghosts that never rest.

So on the faces of these ghostly figures,
we see some smiles start to form,
and as they reach to kiss,
they are broken by the dawn.

You see my fellow listeners,
the sadness of my tale,
is that these ghostly lovers
Are forever destined to fail.

For whenever I sleep at night,
these dreams of those ghosts haunt me,
And when I wake alone again,
I miss that time in Lawley

So my ghostly ghouls,
those lovers and fools
are cursed with bliss,
to always and forever
Relive that night,
only to be a woken by the sunlight. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 371 [topic] => 64 [informant] => ATG [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ambiguous )

NO WAY! I'm from Madeley. I work right next to Lawley, and drive past every day. Aren't the new apartments hideous?!

Kinda cool to find another Telfordian on here. Heehee.

Nice poem. I like the way it flows and the beauty in the images.

*hugs*

This is a beautiful descriptive write.
I could see the beauty of this place clearly.
I have always wanted to go out there and visit sometime..........

I enjoyed this work, will watch for more from you.
Welcome to YPDC

It is so sad when they come and wreck our beautiful places isn't it? Though I feel the spirit of the beauty and the earth lives on.

You really had me with the title, but man, what a lovely write. It was very vivid imagery with a haunting story. It's too bad that people don't respect history more. You have a great poem here. Thank you for sharing it.

Be well,
Loende

(Who would love to say that she'll be there to see Telford et al. before it's all built up and spoiled, but she doubts she can get there in time)

Great write. I felt as if I was in this place of ghostly despair and the modernist race. The lovers of old, so tender and real, then the sunlight dissolves the connection they feel. I very much enjoyed this. Keep them coming!
