I have seen you slain, crippled, drawn from your home, dragged into the sandy, cluttered street, I have seen you knelt, unbridled, dispassionate and alone, crying for your victory, crying for defeat.

You are the end in sequins, stooping low to catch the starlight scattered in your fair, unintended glory, rising suddenly and in disgrace, with smiles locked forever in chambers without faith.

You are a still flame extinguished in the shattered thoughts of rain, spilled forward in the bowing form of dawn. I have seen you razed, demolished, mourned for, and silent, I have seen you fall in the emptiness of war, and I have seen you broken beneath an ending shore, but always you continue.

In my heart, you are the sleep of sky, the dreams of dusk at the edge of an upward sky.

Redolent flower, you are slim-lined, slight of grace, a clumsy show of love, you are undaunted, upright and strong, an emblazoned fever in the ranks of the wounded and wronged.

This is just such a beautiful piece of work. I'm very surprised that no one has mentioned that. In fact, I wish that someone would have mentioned to me even one of the things that you've penned here. Great job, Abraham.

Be well,
Loende
