offering consolations, spewing false emotions
I am relieved and let-down

I watch you walk away
Do you think you're the first to leave?
I am a revolving door,
willing to let anyone in
and they so easily slip through my fingers

I watch you walk away,
telling you "No, you don't love me"
and it's okay.

For some reason, I still hold hope
I still believe people can change
I give a million chances, freely
Until I am irreparably broken.

So I watch you walk away,
but I know I will give anyone else a chance.
I'm afraid to trust,
but I'll do it again. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 168 [topic] => 22 [informant] => alexischeyenne [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

Let me welcome to YPDC.... one of the best poetry sites on the net...
This is really sad but I love the positive aspect in it. Not everyone will let you down. Somewhere, someday, you'll find that right person for you....and you won't need that revolving door anymore..

Welcome to ypdc,

You captured much with this post.
I felt the lonely in it as you watched people walk away.
It is hard to trust this I know but I do agree with Jen here.

I will watch for more of your work.
Hugs
Michelle
