Dancing in the Mirror

Contributed by Blake on Sunday, 12th October 2008 @ 02:48:59 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Dancing in the mirror
With memories reflection

Nothing to be gained here
A waste of time

In the back of my mind
Her smile greets me warmly
Her touch handles me gently
Her scent lends assurance
She is real and with me
Right here, right now

Abrupt intrusion
Cheats my fantasy
Sucks me down
Down to reality

The reality of this
Continuous pattern
Of another heartbroken
Would be anniversary

Kneeling down to present your rose
My tears begin their free falls into the soil

This stone is cold as my fingertips graze the edges
Laying your rose softly against the frostbitten indicator
The marker of your previous existence

Brought myself painfully back to my feet
I begin another calm yet hesitant walk away
With that one final glance back from a distance
I speak softly my last words of this melancholy meeting
That I miss you dreadfully
Love you awfully

Crying in the mirror
With memories reflection

Nothing to be gained here
And everything to be lost

This is very touching. It must have been a true love.At least you've had that so many people will never experience what that is like.Look forward to your next poem
