I see confusion and fear in those eyes I cherish,
I reach out to touch her but she shrinks back,
My heart breaks for this angel lost,
Pain is the subject that she knows most,
Her soul shattered by others before me,
I can not bear to just sit here and watch this,
I must try and pick up the pieces,
The world has lashed out at her and hit a crucial spot,
The wound she has from it is the same one that I bear,
It is the one wound I never saw coming,
I see the tears in her heart,
She is afraid that behind my smile and words lies a dagger in hiding,
Waiting for the chance to inflict another wound,
I cannot blame her for that,
The world has twisted these angel's hearts until they have broken,
The words, deceit, and lies,
How I hate it,
Anger is the closest compassion that I have for the real 'men' I see today,
I look at them and am ashamed,
This is not who we were meant to be,
When did this happen,
What happened to worshiping the companion God has given us?
Where did all of the real men go?
Am I truly the last of them?
