Sunrise, Sunset

“The Hummer” lost his fight today
I search to grasp the words to say
For this I know we were not ready
I write these words my hands unsteady

We gather with those, with whom to share
For his departure we must prepare
With the illness there’s met an end
The time for us to bury our friend

He had put forth a courageous fight
Now at the end we close the light
And although tired, he’d done his best
Now that it’s over he can rest

Since time of birth he had embarked
And in this world he left his mark
Here on Earth he’s had his stay
For him...it is now yesterday

And in this gravity we are caught
It’s our condolence that is sought
That there’s no pain we won’t pretend
And there in heaven, we’ll meet again

George L. “Jake - The Hummer” Gomes

Again, I thank you all. God Bless.

Oh Stephan, I am SO sorry for your loss. But what a beautiful tribute you have
left to him, your dear friend. I know what it is like to lose someone to this nasty
disease. It is never easy, even when you KNOW the end is near. In fact, sometimes
I think it makes it harder. You have done well to write anything, my friend.
But to pay respect with such wonderful and beautiful thoughts, well, I truly don't
know how you did it, and I am in complete admiration.

Brilliantly crafted. My thoughts are with you and his family ...

with respect and admiration,

~ Breezy
