Array ( [sid] => 145583 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Departed [time] => 2008-10-07 19:38:51 [hometext] => Today is my little brother's birthday. He passed away in 1996, when he was just two years old. I wrote this in his memory. I miss ya bro. Forever in my heart. R.I.P. [bodytext] => CHORUS
No matter how hard we try
It's so hard to say goodbye
My eyes have seen so many tears
It doesn't get easier through the years
But I ain't stupid, I ain't retarded
I know I can't bring back the departed
You’re in my heart forever
Wishing we could be together
And I'm sending all my love
To you in heaven above
Would do anything to bring you back
But sadly you were taken, off of your track

How can we explain death?
When someone just loses breath?
When they just leave you
When you don’t know what to do
I know that its hurts the soul
To feel their body running cold
The wounds never heal
You learn that pain is real
You feel your heart beat slower
Wishing you could be with each other
Yet, they are away forever
I know it hurts inside
To know that they have died
I know that you have cried
But you can’t run away and hide
You gotta honor their memory
Try to stay happy
And just pay tribute

CHORUS

It’s a time like this
When we stop to reminisce
When we laugh on the good moments in their life
We think about smiles and not about strife
We would do anything for another day
Yet for some reason, you went away
You left me speechless, nothing to say
My bright blue skies turned to grey
And, I’m sitting here thinking of you
And everything we’ve been through
Yet we can’t finish what we started
I try so hard to bring back the departed
But I know that you’re gone
And it hurts to be alone
But someday, we will meet up again
And be together til the end

CHORUS

This is for anyone who lost someone they loved
Someone who is now with God above
Anyone who lost a family member
Anyone who still tries to remember
Anyone who lost a friend
That they promised to be with until the end
This song is for you
Anyone who didn’t give up
Even when the times were rough
Anyone who stood their ground
When their world came crashing down
Anyone who still prays
Anyone who thinks about em each day
Anyone who can’t wait to see them again
Anyone who does anything they can
Anyone who waits for heaven to open up for them
So they can see their departed family or friend
If your feelings are true
Then this song is for you

CHORUS

It's true you can't bring anyone back, but you can always keep them alive in your heart.
A fitting tribute.
Such a short life, hardly a life at all but still treasured despite its brevity

Steve
