I would never commit such a hazardous and heinous crime,
but I’m glad I left that weak, benign side of me behind.

I am what I had forbidden long ago:
someone radical, someone out of control,
a curious voyager entering a danger zone.

Truly, it’s not so bad like everyone claims it to be!
Down here, everyone is so welcoming,
so unbelievably appreciative of me!
This is my new home, my new family.

It is nothing like I have ever experienced.
Something I once considered wicked, I now enjoy.
Try it! You might like it!
Come on, I’ll show you! Don’t be coy!
You don’t want to regret it like I had.
Just take my hand, and I promise,
you will understand.

guilt and regret weigh you down. sometimes we do shame ourselves for no reasons. perhaps i interpreted what you meant originally wrong, but it spoke to me this way. thank you

I am a bit confused on what you actually feel in this work. Whether you are actually against this thing and regret you have fallen again, just mocking the danger of it in the end. Or whether you feel you first mindset was wrong. Still, that's poetry it is left up to the reader. It is a dark write, and yes compelling. The fact that we are unsure what you are stating almost places this subject on us and how we feel as individuals when we fall again into things we once regreted.

Thus making this poem a rarity. It allows the reader to ask questions to himslef/herself about their own guilt. Whether this was your intention or not it has become this. A wonderfully dark work that asks questions and gives no answers (the best ways of an artist).

BRAVO!

Well, it seems you have had a chance to look at both sides of the fence, and have made your choice. What strikes me most about this piece, the impression I get, is that you've gone so far down one side, that you have now lost objectivity.
A thought provoking write.
