To our first beautiful daughter,
She came into this world, our precious earth,
With solemn eyes and then a chuckle of laughter.
I looked at her in her daddys arms,
Wrapped in hospital linen,
And reached out too touch her tiny palms.
That tiny dot,has never ceased to delight and confound me,
Her manner kind, always ready to please,
And Celtic beauty needed to be seen.
Her countenance so gentle, eyes reflect the Atlantic storm
And hair long and burnished with hues copper and gold,
But this beauty is of reminscent of times gone by,
Of Irish queens and maidens of old.
She matches any of regal stand
In looks,temperment and manner
Of those who came from this green and noble land.
As she has grown older she has shown,
Me many things a child born,
In the wrong age,Known
To many ,loved by many
My Celtic child Bethany. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 341 [topic] => 55 [informant] => lilymaemax [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )

Oh, how beautiful. I love that hers is the first
comment as well, it somehow makes the
poem sweeter if possible. Wonderfully done.

I love poetry about our children..
Great homage paid here!
Too bad some kids don't realize just how important they are to their parents. I try to let mine know always. They're like our own little deities that we offer our lives to...
Great poem once again...

Sounds like you got a bit of an old soul in your arms, dear! How beautiful! I love your nod to your Celtic ancestry! I see so many that deny their roots! How refreshing to see them embraced!
