Covalescence

Contributed by flirtyrockstar on Wednesday, 19th March 2003 @ 09:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I felt the distance mature
With the seconds of secrecy
That arose from the torrid expressions
Hid in the dark.
Wrenching thoughts, unthinkinable
Upon Forgotten hours.

I never established the courage
To look at anything but your eyes.
They ate away any distrust
With the promise of a departed delight.
Riding to and fro
Throughout alleys of enigma
and secluded balconies,
Where we rung our poems washed with tears

Now alone
Singing in discontent,
I question the hope left in life

Anguish and dissapointment
Are all we apply to our tender wounds.
Bitter longing to flush the puss
Seeping through our scabs.

It's unimaginable
That covalescence shall ever visit this side of town,
And this obscure window
Has curtained ignition from all corners of my mind.

The suffering is perpetual.
Like the hands on a clock.
Seconds of secrecy will tick on in my conscience,
Long after our moments
Have bleached from my eyes.
